Zoat-Aon is the project of one Jaakko Vanhala, who is ably assisted by several guests, including Antti Litmanen, who provides singing bowls on "MaUrMa". Other guests provide piano and human skull drums . As with all Aural Hypnox releases, there is a strong ritualistic and mystic flavour present, a world which beckons to and irresistibly draws in the listener; a dark and gloomy realm, but a world open to the possibilities of exploring dimensions unknown.

Star Autopsy - Zoat Aon (2005)

Star Autopsy is very spacey, creating dark and cold cosmic, mezmerizing and swirling soundscapes. While it really sounds like dead space music, at the same time it's very full of life, making it quite interesting. I'm not really sure yet what exactly it does bring to my mind, but it is something astral. Star Autopsy is quite a journey. To where ever it may be, is up to the listener.

The Secret Eye of L.A.Y.L.A.H. - Zero Kama

All instruments to be heard on this album were exclusively made from human bones and skulls by the hand of Zero Kama. They never have been used since the time of its recording, which took place at the Secret Temple of Laylah from 5th to 28th of May 1984 . Remixed at Psychonaut Studio Vienna in November 1987, and dedicated to the symbol of Laylah, meaning night and death, as well as to its numerical equivalent, Oz, a goat or unrestrained sexual force of creation, thus showing the identity of the basic two opposite forces in this generous universe of beauty and strength, in which the Lovers my find ecstasy in Pan. Who wishes to enter this world of darkness, in which the Great Goat dwelleth, may pass through the sigil of Oz given at the front of this Cover.

Ai Ma Ra is a monumental album containing over 105 minutes of experimental elemental and ambient music, original in the literal sense of the word. More than music, it is 'ethnography of the unknown' in action, providing vistas into rarely glimpsed corners of reality. Created primarily on acoustic instruments, organs and harmonium, carefully mastered on vintage tape, the sound is equally earthy as it is otherworldly – a contradiction in terms maybe, but then Ai Ma Ra is not classified easily in any other respect either. It is a record in which to immerse one’s self over time, containing more than two years' worth of strange experiences and sensations distilled into a curious, potent elixir, the use of which may in its truest sense be determined only by the individual listener.

Arktau Eos - Scorpion Milk (2006)

"Scorpion Milk" consists of a single album length track, which is best apprehended in a meditative state with minimum outside interference. It is truly a 'Mirroir Noir' to the album itself - its shadowy companion, the candle-bearer responding to no call but silence itself. The music can be likened to a dark well, the oily surface of which not only reflects the phantasms of mind recalled through participation in the "Mirrorion" cycle, but is occasionally broken by scorpionic surges of primal Power invigorating the act of contemplation.

The effect is equal parts unsettling and soothing: the way forward to the next Arktau Eos outing seen through a spectral kaleidoscope. Performed and mixed live using mainly obscure '70s electronica on a real reel tape, it is the antithesis of the sterile, lifeless sound so common in our times. A connoisseur's choice that stands alone despite its undercurrents flowing from the heart of "Mirrorion".

Arktau Eos - Mirrorion (2006)

Presented in seventeen chapters that can be approached as singular gateways or a slowly unfolding journey of epic proportions, the debut album of Arktau Eos is a challenging, complex work. Born of intense private musico-magical sessions held in places abandoned by man and further refined in the temple-laboratory of the duo, it is the distillation of seven arduous months of work.

As the title suggests, "Mirrorion" is the music of stellar light thrown down from the Heaven's zenith and its eldritch reflections in the depths below, uniting atavistic elemental noise with serene passages of crystalline, spectral ambience. Ultimately, "Mirrorion" seeks to surpass such earthly definitions in favour of a non-dual vision of reality, hopefully transforming the listener in the process.

For this recording Arktau Eos have favoured an organic approach with majority of instrumentation being of acoustic variety, including the unearthly choral of the kanglings, piercing blasts of windbones, accelerating steel-plate rolls, singing bowls and various kinds of stringed instruments.
